Wow!

I can't believe it has been a year already since I started this blog!

My first post was on October 29, 2008. Since that day I have posted 162+ times. I'm sure that I have spent countless hours sitting at the computer, but I'm so glad I did because guess what?

I LOVE LOOKING BACK OVER OLD POSTS AND THINGS THAT HAVE HAPPENED THIS YEAR.

A year goes by so quickly. As I looked over my posts I realized how much I have learned. And how much I had forgotten! Chuckle. It was cool to have it all written down along with pics, videos, and music! It brings back so many memories!

Here are ten of the highlights.

1 - My oldest son Garrett became the first follower of my blog but has yet to post a pic. See - he is the blog robber in the corner of my "followers." My sister Liz is a blog robber, too. No picture for her yet either.

2- Garrett also graduated from college with a Bachelors in Civil Engineering!

3- I have three grandkids - which seems ridiculous because I am so young. LOL!

4- Brett and I celebrated our 25th Anniversary. INCREDIBLE! and yet I still haven't posted about it. I had good intentions.

5- It seems I have an obsession with numbers because many of my posts are about them!

6- I became a member of my first creative team. I am a daisy petal for Scrappin' Daisies. I love to Digiscrap!

7- I love music! I have posted many you-tube videos with some favorite songs and sometimes I have even posted the poetic lyrics.

8- I'm a softie. I usually post scrapbook pages and things that are emotional for me.

9- I'm often late - to work, to activities, and to post things on my blog (even this post was supposed to be yesterday.)

10- I love comments and look forward to reading every one so thanks for commenting when you can!

Brynn - Big Sister

We are so happy to announce that Brynn is now a big sister!

Our dd Kelsey had her third baby at 8:39 pm October 17, 2009.
Baby Peyton is doing well! She weighed 7 lbs 4 oz and was 20 inches long

We are now proud grandparents to three fabulous grandkids!

Journaling on scrapbook page:
You seem too little to be a big sister. This picture was taken the day before your little sister was born. You and Peyton are only fourteen months apart. Your mom and your aunt Jessica were only seventeen months apart and they are the best of friends. I predict that you and your sister will be great friends someday

More baby pics and scrapbook pages coming soon!

Isn't it a cute kit?

My heart is still beating out of my chest

This morning I went to the gym. Brett was just getting into the shower as I left. I kissed him goodbye and headed to workout.

The wind was blowing incredibly hard. It was swirling leaves everywhere. It was even knocking over construction signs.

After my workout, as I was driving home, I noticed a slew of ambulances and a fire truck near our house. It was so dark. I couldn't tell what was going on. I slowed down to take a look. Oh, no!!!

There was Brett's truck and they were putting someone onto a gurney. I couldn't tell what was going on. I pulled over and ran to look into Brett's truck. He wasn't there. My heart was racing. The only other civilian I could see was the man being loaded in to the ambulance. I didn't see what Brett wore to work, but I was sure it was him on that gurney. The man had a neck brace and I couldn't see his face. I could only see that he was wearing shorts. "Did Brett wear shorts to work today?" I asked myself.

I said to the officer, "This is my husband's truck." I was ready to break down into tears. Brett turned and said "Oh, no, everything's okay"

He was standing next to the officer. The jacket he was wearing looked unfamiliar. In fact, in the dark it looked similar to the ones the paramedics were wearing. He could tell I was about to cry.

I was a little embarassed by how emotional I got.

Everything was fine.

I bet you're wondering, "What happened?"

A bicyclist came out around a parked car. The wind had blown over a garbage can. He didn't see it and biffed it. Brett almost hit the guy then pulled over to help. Luckily, the bicyclist was wearing a helmet. Brett said, the helmet was totally smashed in.

The bicyclist is okay - Brett is fine - so why is my heart is still beating out of my chest?

Which do you like better?

I just finished watching a tutorial from Scrapper's Guide.
I have learned so much by watching their videos.

The lesson was on the dodge and burn tool.

Here is my page before using dodge and burn.

Here is the page after

Which do you like better? Or does it even make that much difference?
