I like this song so much!

Kelsey has got me addicted to a new song!!!

Want to hear this cool song - click here

We had so much fun last Saturday afternoon. I asked Kelsey and Jess to help me add some new songs to my blog playlist, so we sat around laughing and talking and dancing. Kelsey reminded me of an Owl City song that I love called “Fireflies.” I put it on my playlist and so far I haven’t grown tired of it. I love hanging out with my girls (Bre was there, too.) It reminds me of when I was a teenager!

The Sunday Before Memorial Day

I was very excited to find these digital photos.

Have you ever forgotten that you have taken some photos and when you come upon them you get so happy?

That's how I felt yesterday when I found these pics from the Sunday before Memorial Day.

How's your knee feeling?

Brett injured his knee on Labor Day 2009. He was playing softball and as he ran into third base, his foot caught on the edge of the base and twisted his knee. He has been in a lot of pain. The knee was so swollen, he couldn’t bend it or put any weight on it. He has had to use crutches to get around.

After three days of hobbling, Breanna (five years old at the time) asked

“Dad, when will your knee be better - How are you doing?”

Brett told her “It will probably be a little while - It’s getting a little better every day but it might take some time to completely heal.”

“Okay,” Breanna said, “Well I’m going to ask you every day and say ‘How’s your knee feeling?”

Brett laughed and thought that was really cute but never expected her to follow through.

The next day when Brett got home from work, Breanna greeted him at the door with a big hug. She said, “How’s your knee feeling today, Dad?”

She made Brett laugh again and he responded, “It’s feeling a little better.”

She said, ”Remember I’m going to ask you every day!”

And she has asked every day without fail. Sometimes she forgets when Brett first arrives home but later she will say, “Oh, I forgot to ask you, ‘How is your knee feeling today? - Cuz, remember, I’m going to ask you every day!”

Every time she asks, it makes Brett’s day. Our little girl is so full of love! She is definitely a Daddy’s girl!

"Pokey" Ear

I have been scrapping old photos this Sunday afternoon. Brett walked into the room and said "Who's little girl is that?"

"It's ours - that's Breanna," I said laughing. (It's amazing how much memory loss you can have in five years)

"She looks a lot like Brynn!" (our one year old granddaughter)

"Look, her left ear is a little 'pokey' just like Brynn's," I said.

Hhhmmmm - Lightbulb moment!!! I didn't realize that came from our side of the family. I always blamed it on Luke's genes. Guess I was wrong. LOL!!!

Take a look

Yep - Breanna and Brynn definitely got the "Pokey" ear!

Second Hike Page

There were too many cool pictures, so I decided to do a second page of our hike.

Thanks for looking! Remember to download your freebie template in the post below.

Hike

We have so much fun in Lava Hot Springs. Each year, we have our family reunion there in August.

We like to hike up to the "L" which is not an easy trek! But, even though it's difficult, Breanna (five years old at the time) did it! We told her, "No whining allowed!" and she proceeded to beat us up the mounain. Lizzie and I huffed and puffed the whole way. (Wow, I'm out of shape!) Breanna was definitely a trooper.

Seeing down over the valley was spectacular! That view makes the whole hike worth every ounce of effort. Here is the layout I scrapped of our adventure. You can see the view somewhat in the picture of Bre.

I scrapped this layout with this cute kit from Scrappin' Daisies.

The template is based on a sketch by Emily Ahern. She is so talented. She posted 4 fabulous sketches yesterday on Write Click Scrapbook.

My layout was based on her third sketch. I took the sketch and made a photoshop tif. and psd. template that I thought I would share with all my digi-scrapping friends. You can download HERE

Happy Birthday Bre!!!

We are having a birthday in our house today. Sweet, little, Breanna is already six years old. She wanted me to wake her up early so she doesn't miss a moment of her special day. I found this video that I laughed at when I was six years old. ENJOY

Arrow

My sweet grandson, Charles Luke, had the most fun playing with an arrow. Don't worry - the tip was off so it wasn't as dangerous as you think.

Designer Digitals Chats

I wasn't very busy at the salon yesterday, which meant I had time to go to the all day chats at Designer Digitals. I love the chats at DD because they inspire me to scrap. I got both of these pages done in less than 45 minutes.

I have a gallery at DD. If you want to see, click here (you must log in to view)

That was fun!!!   That was fun!!!

Have a great one!

High School

Braden and Ryan are going to high school together.

I've been so proud of Ryan. He is a senior and he has been riding his bike to school every day. He rides it home for lunch, then rides back to school. He rides about 12 miles a day
Braden started his first year of high school. He loves to wear cool clothes and is very particular about the way his hair looks. He has a deep tan from spending so much time at the pool this summer. He looks great!

Here's a page I scrapped about my special boys.

I made this page with a classic kit from Digital Design Essentials called "Book Bag Essentials"

Garden Delights

Here is a page I just made with the fun "Pick Me Pick Me" kit from Heather Roselli. The kids love all the great fruits and veges that are abundant in our yard right now.

Journaling: You love to spend your time out in the garden. You pick peaches and grapes and tomatoes. You gorge yourself on fresh fruits! You often pick some flowers and surprise mom with a bouquet!

September Desktop

I like to post my new computer desktop at the beginning of the month. I seem to have forgotten this month so - TA DA Here it is -

I got this one from Heather Roselli's blog - She is an awesome designer over at Sweet Shoppe Designs.
