Dad's 71st Birthday and Free QP
Have you seen Scrappin' Daisies new kit Pocket Full of Posies?
I scrapped this page with it!
Journaling: We wanted to do something special for Dad’s birthday. Stephanie and Liz were able to come into town on the 21st of October. We all got together for lunch downtown. We met at the Cafe Rio near Marie’s store so that she could join us. It was great to get together and visit. Afterwards, we went shopping at Smith’s Marketplace. It was so fun to gab and shop and enjoy each other’s company. It doesn’t seem possible that Dad is already 71 years old. He looks so great. We are hoping to have many more birthday lunches in the future. We love our Daddy!!! Birthdays are a great reason to get together. We don’t do it often enough.

Up To No Good
Scrappin' Daisies has a new kit out called "Up to No Good"
Here is a preview of the kit
This is my first layout. I can't stop scrapping my sweet new grand-daughter Peyton
This second layout is a total scraplift. The sad part about that is: "I can't remember where I saw the original layout!" I found it in my page ideas folder, so I'm unable to give kudos to the original creator. If this looks familiar, give me a shout so I can give you credit.
My scraplift started with a template I created -
I want to share this template with all my digiscrapping friends

What a great Wednesday!
Yes - it is my 43rd birthday! I have had a perfect day.
What made the day so cool?
Many friends and family called, texted and e-mailed greetings and birthday wishes
I didn't work much! I spent a few hours at the salon early this morning.
I went to lunch with Brett.
I took a nap with no interruptions.
I had a fabulous Rib-eye dinner with all my kids and grand-kids.
We finished the meal with Brett's homemade butter rum pecan ice cream.
I feel very content and blessed!
Birthdays are the best!!!

Braden got his first deer!
Our family loves to hunt.
Braden got a tag for a management buck. "What does that mean?" you may be wondering. It means that he has the opportunity to shoot a deer that is a three point on one side and a four point on the other.
And guess what - he got an awesome deer!
More on the story and pics coming soon!

This is what I have been working on
Since I know that my husband doesn't really read this blog, I decided to share.
I wanted to make an album for Brett for Christmas.
Scrapper's Guide was having a contest and I won an 8x11 shutterfly album. YIPPEE!!!
I decided to document our January-February trip to Hawaii.
Here is the cover page. Click on it to view it larger.
This page took me forever. I love the heart, but I'm not really sure I like the title. Any ideas?

Wow!
I can't believe it has been a year already since I started this blog!
My first post was on October 29, 2008. Since that day I have posted 162+ times. I'm sure that I have spent countless hours sitting at the computer, but I'm so glad I did because guess what?
I LOVE LOOKING BACK OVER OLD POSTS AND THINGS THAT HAVE HAPPENED THIS YEAR.
A year goes by so quickly. As I looked over my posts I realized how much I have learned. And how much I had forgotten! Chuckle. It was cool to have it all written down along with pics, videos, and music! It brings back so many memories!
Here are ten of the highlights.
1 - My oldest son Garrett became the first follower of my blog but has yet to post a pic. See - he is the blog robber in the corner of my "followers." My sister Liz is a blog robber, too. No picture for her yet either.
2- Garrett also graduated from college with a Bachelors in Civil Engineering!
3- I have three grandkids - which seems ridiculous because I am so young. LOL!
4- Brett and I celebrated our 25th Anniversary. INCREDIBLE! and yet I still haven't posted about it. I had good intentions.
5- It seems I have an obsession with numbers because many of my posts are about them!
6- I became a member of my first creative team. I am a daisy petal for Scrappin' Daisies. I love to Digiscrap!
7- I love music! I have posted many you-tube videos with some favorite songs and sometimes I have even posted the poetic lyrics.
8- I'm a softie. I usually post scrapbook pages and things that are emotional for me.
9- I'm often late - to work, to activities, and to post things on my blog (even this post was supposed to be yesterday.)
10- I love comments and look forward to reading every one so thanks for commenting when you can!

Brynn - Big Sister
We are so happy to announce that Brynn is now a big sister!
Our dd Kelsey had her third baby at 8:39 pm October 17, 2009.
Baby Peyton is doing well! She weighed 7 lbs 4 oz and was 20 inches long
We are now proud grandparents to three fabulous grandkids!
Journaling on scrapbook page:
You seem too little to be a big sister. This picture was taken the day before your little sister was born. You and Peyton are only fourteen months apart. Your mom and your aunt Jessica were only seventeen months apart and they are the best of friends. I predict that you and your sister will be great friends someday
More baby pics and scrapbook pages coming soon!

My heart is still beating out of my chest
This morning I went to the gym. Brett was just getting into the shower as I left. I kissed him goodbye and headed to workout.
The wind was blowing incredibly hard. It was swirling leaves everywhere. It was even knocking over construction signs.
After my workout, as I was driving home, I noticed a slew of ambulances and a fire truck near our house. It was so dark. I couldn't tell what was going on. I slowed down to take a look. Oh, no!!!
There was Brett's truck and they were putting someone onto a gurney. I couldn't tell what was going on. I pulled over and ran to look into Brett's truck. He wasn't there. My heart was racing. The only other civilian I could see was the man being loaded in to the ambulance. I didn't see what Brett wore to work, but I was sure it was him on that gurney. The man had a neck brace and I couldn't see his face. I could only see that he was wearing shorts. "Did Brett wear shorts to work today?" I asked myself.
I said to the officer, "This is my husband's truck." I was ready to break down into tears. Brett turned and said "Oh, no, everything's okay"
He was standing next to the officer. The jacket he was wearing looked unfamiliar. In fact, in the dark it looked similar to the ones the paramedics were wearing. He could tell I was about to cry.
I was a little embarassed by how emotional I got.
Everything was fine.
I bet you're wondering, "What happened?"
A bicyclist came out around a parked car. The wind had blown over a garbage can. He didn't see it and biffed it. Brett almost hit the guy then pulled over to help. Luckily, the bicyclist was wearing a helmet. Brett said, the helmet was totally smashed in.
The bicyclist is okay - Brett is fine - so why is my heart is still beating out of my chest?

Which do you like better?
I just finished watching a tutorial from Scrapper's Guide.
I have learned so much by watching their videos.
The lesson was on the dodge and burn tool.
Here is my page before using dodge and burn.
Here is the page after
Which do you like better? Or does it even make that much difference?
Thanks for commenting!

My wish is your command
I made this layout today
Journaling - You wanted me to go out and take pictures of you riding your bike. Your brothers and sisters say I cater to your every desire. I probably do, but you are my baby.
My kids say I spoil Breanna - and I probably do!!!
This page was made with Scrappin' Daisies Fairy Princess
