I got this funny story in an e-mail from Brett and had to share.
A man drove his brand new Corvette convertible out of the dealership.
Taking off down the road, he floored it to 80 mph, enjoying the wind
blowing through what little hair he had left. "Amazing," he thought as he
flew down I-15, pushing the pedal even more.
Looking in his rear view mirror, he saw the highway patrol behind him,
blue lights flashing and siren blaring. He floored it to 100mph, then
110, then 120.
Suddenly he thought, "What am I doing? I'm too old for this," and pulled
over to await the Trooper's arrival.
Pulling in behind him, the Trooper walked up to the Corvette, looked at
his watch and said, "Sir, my shift ends in 30 minutes. Today is Friday.
If you can give me a good reason for speeding that I've never heard
before, I'll let you go."
The old gentleman paused. Then said, 'Years ago, my wife ran off with a
State Trooper. I thought you were bringing her back.'
"Have a good day, Sir," replied the Trooper.

Blog Challenge
I was challenged again at the Jen Wilson Blog
Here is the page I came up with:
Journaling: For as long as I can remember, I have had this addiction to getting my nails done. It stems from my dad telling me that a beautiful woman always has nicely manicured nails. (I think he told me this so I would stop chewing on my fingernails as this was my bad habit at eight years old.) So, every two weeks, I have the acrylic filled in. After 26 years of doing hair, my hands are looking older. The nails make me feel better about that fact. It used to be I would do only a french manicure but lately, I have been trying different things. Today, the sparkle reminds me of Dorothy’s shoes in “The Wizard of Oz.” and that makes me happy.

Project 365 Continued
I am still working on this. Here is my layout for last week. I made my own template by copying the layout on Becky Higgins blog here. This is a great way to keep track of the happenings in your year. I like the way this week turned out!
Love this guy
This is a little shout out to my Dad! He is 70 years old. Doesn't he look great! I was looking at pictures and came across this one and my heart just filled with love. He is such an incredible guy. I want to grow up and be just like him in so many ways! Be expecting a little something from me in the mail this week. I love you, dad!!!

One minute writer
I found this interesting blog. It is amazing how much you can find out about a person in one minute of writing. The prompt for today was "Write a one-minute review of the last book you finished reading." I started the timer and here goes. "I don't take as much time as I would like to read but the last book I read was the fourth in the Twilight Series. I read it while I was on my cruise for my anniversary in 2008." That's all I finished in my one minute. As you can see, I am not a very fast typist. Brett was irritated that I got so wrapped up in the book. I didn't even want to leave our room. Every free moment was absorbed by that book. I'm still trying to make it up to him so I'm getting into the shower with him now-LOL!!!

The Weepies
I'm sitting here at the computer listening to music. Jacob is at my right working on his math homework. I hear him humming. I hear a few words being sung along. Even I'm humming and wondering "what are those lyrics?" I have to google it!
It's Karaoke Night at the computer.
Take the sky
For example
A canvas of a billion suns
But our local hero
Shines them out by day
Save for the winking of a Venus or Mars
Even the stars
Sometimes fade to gray
Even the stars
Hideaway
I see the bare moon
Raise his big bald head
I see my friends play the fool
I'll make my own way
In the wide world
Just know I don't want to wander too far
Even the stars
Sometimes fade to gray
Even the stars
Hideaway
Even the stars
Sometimes fade to gray
Even the stars
Hideaway
Some call me
All kinds of names
Some say I don't play the right kind of game
I try to be honest
I try to be kind
And honestly leave when I know that it's time
I know that it's time
Hear a phoebe sing his only song
The summer's day is hovering
I'll write my full heart
Troubles fly like embers
Out the windows of our traveling car
Even the stars
Sometimes fade to gray
Even the stars
Hideaway
Jacob asks, "Do the Weepies have anymore songs?"

Melody - This one's for you
Hello 2009
I was inspired by the Everyday Inspiration Challenge over at Designer Digitals and I scrapped this page. The journaling reads: Can it be 2009? Just yesterday, the year 2000 came around and in the blink of an eye, nine years have passed. In that nine years I have had a new baby boy (Jacob), a new baby girl (Breanna), my first grandson(Charles Luke) and my first darling granddaughter (Brynn). The last nine years have been filled with wonderful children. I can’t wait to see what the next nine have in store.

More Sugarbowl Party Pics
Remember, I left the Sugarbowl party early to go to Med's for our digi-scrap get-together. Before I left, I did manage to get these pics
Ryan's excited for the game to begin...
The guys are getting ready
Austin is waiting patiently
And the most excited of all is our sweet little princess Brynn.
She loves a good football game...especially when her Daddy's team wins!!!
GO UTES!!!

January 2nd
I took the day off work and today was supposed to be a shopping/fun day for Brett and I. But, I was feeling in a funk. I took a nap and felt better but not much. Some days are just like that. Things got a lot better in the evening when we had a Sugarbowl Party at our house. It was mostly teenagers, so I headed up to Melody's and we scrapped the night away. That made me feel much better. Here are some photos from the party. Yeah Utah 31-17 over Alabama

New Year's Day
I woke up this morning with angel kisses on my toes. It felt as if something were gently moving my feet. They were bundled under the covers. "What is going on?" I thought. I went back to sleep.
I dreamed that a sweet little girl was down at the bottom of the bed. I dreamed that she didn't really want to wake her mom up, but she wanted some company. I continued to sleep.
I dreamed that it was a gorgeous bright day. Snow covered the ground. It was beautiful.
Then, I woke up and my little girl (that I dreamed wanted some company) was at the computer playing solitaire.
How's that for a five year old.
She won!!!
